7 Reasons You’re Not Strong

1. No Plan + Bad Record Keeping

Going to the gym and winging it never works. You need a solid plan! Hiring a fitness professional to develop your plan will go a long way. We understand 1 on 1 training can get expensive. We have options where you are not locked into contracts. Based on your experience level, even one to 5 sessions to review techniques and design a plan will help.

2. Rushing Through Your Workouts

It’s important to understand how different rest periods affect your strength levels. Stay away from the extremes and you should be good! No need to rush through the exercises. Do not become the person who does a set, and then rests for 15 minutes to take selfies or have a conversation. Our circuit training style workouts will improve overall fitness. You will get stronger, more flexible, and improve cardiovascular fitness. For those looking for faster strength gains, our 1 on 1 or semi-private sessions will give you better results. We are able to track the numbers closely and watch rest periods, and the sessions are written for you. We can manipulate sets, reps, and rest periods for your body type. There are some lifts we can do in this setting that cannot be done in the group circuit training.

3. Goal Setting

You will not get far if you have no idea where you are trying to go! Hire a personal trainer to help you set realistic goals. Choose a goal that will push you out of your comfort zone. Break that goal into baby steps to keep you on track.

4. Technique

Bad technique will lead to injuries! In the best case scenario, you are not working the muscles you are trying to work. Nothing slows down progress more than horrible technique!

5. You Believe the High-Rep Light Weight Toning Myth!

A lot of people still believe that high reps with light weight will tone them up. Get strong and clean up your diet. That will tone you up! Lifting light weights for a million reps is not the best way to get strong. Not the best way to look better. You might feel the burn, but you need more than light weights. A lot of these training methods market to women who are afraid of getting bulky. You will NOT get bulky from lifting heavier weights.

6. Always Injured!

You will not get strong if you are constantly injured! Hire a professional to make sure your technique is great. We take the time to assess your needs and develop an overall plan for you. We never just have people do strength training. Every single session must include mobility and flexibility work.

7. Not Consistent

This should be obvious. Working out hard for one or two months, before taking three months off, never works. One of the main reasons our members get great results is because of the accountability. Having a time, place, and coach makes being consistent much easier!
