☑️Mental health, and the other benefits of Exercise!

It’s about more than the number on the scale, more than how much weight you can lift. Even if you fail to lose weight with exercise, you are still getting a million different benefits from your exercise routine. 

One of the most important benefits from exercising is improved mental health. Studies show that depression and anxiety symptoms improve with exercise. 

How does exercise help depression and anxiety?

The links are not completely clear, but your body releases feel good endorphins when you exercise. When you hear people say “runners high” this is what they are talking about. Don’t worry if you are not a runner, you can get this feeling from just about any form of exercise done with enough intensity .

Blocking out a time where you have to be focused on exercise will take your mind off stressors, at least for a short period. You might not think you have time, but blocking out  time for exercise will give you a major return. You will have more energy, be more productive, and be able to focus better.

More confidence – As you get stronger and start to reach your fitness goals, you will become more confident. This will carry over to every area of your life! 

More social interaction – A MAJOR benefit of our group training is the motivation from your exercise family! Nothing like accountability from a friend. Even if you are not with us, joining a friend or workout group will help a lot for mental health, accountability, and results. 

Cope in a healthy way- If you replace a negative habit like drinking , stress eating , or watching TV with exercise it will change your life. You will feel SO much better!

Does it have to be structured?

No, Any form of physical activity counts when it comes to seeing the mental health benefits. Small things like taking the stairs or parking a little further away add up. 

 Of course, you will see more of a benefit if you are participating in an exercise routine with more structure. A routine where you can gradually increase the intensity over time and push yourself.

We find the right group for you based on your schedule, budget, goals, and preferences of who you want to work with . Or you can start your own group with a partner or two.

Of course we still have our 1 on 1 training and Group Fitness services!
