☑️Exercising with injuries?! + 1 on 1 Personal Training vs Group?

Are you afraid to start exercising because you have injuries? Here are a few tips to get the most out of your exercise routine if you are injured.

Choose a QUALIFIED professional!

Do your research on the qualifications of your personal trainer. Look for certifications from organizations like NSCA, ACSM, or NASM. See if you can find trainers that have college degrees in Kinesiology.

Just because they are certified does not mean they are a great fit. Take advantage of a free consultation so you can see if it’s a personality fit. Ask questions about their experience. Try out sessions before committing to a long term package.

Consider 1 on 1 or semi private over group training!

Most people feel more comfortable with 1 on 1 or small groups of 2 to 5 people when training with injuries. You are able to get more attention and have a program written directly for you.

Most people do well with group training, if they choose the best group for them. We have modifications for all of our exercises in the group setting. Our regular groups usually have between 5 to 10 people. We are not like the franchise group classes that have over 20 people in a room. We are not like the boot camps with 30 people doing box jumps and other extreme exercises on day one. Those places cause injuries.

We have a lot of people who use our personal training services to transition into group training. A great way to feel comfortable and have more confidence before going into group training.

Have a solid team of professionals who work together!

We love to work with physical therapists and doctors to help you transition. You need a team of professionals that work together. We take the time to talk with your professionals to have a deeper understanding of your injuries and medical conditions.

Listen to your body!

Know the difference between muscle soreness, being uncomfortable, and joint or muscle pain. Do not push to the point of injury! The extra rep or working through it is not worth it. In some group atmospheres it can be hard. The adrenaline rush causes some people to do stupid things. Our coaches will help you find the best setting and movements to keep you safe.
