Enjoy your food! – Trying to be perfect and avoiding “bad foods” will end up getting you in more trouble. Usually leads to some sort of binge. Will cause you to develop a bad relationship with food.

Avoid the All or nothing mindset – This gets A LOT of people in trouble! It’s not missing a workout or two. It’s when you miss a workout, lose momentum, and then you skip a month or two. It’s not a bad meal or two. It’s when you eat what you consider a bad meal and then you get off track for a month or two.
Avoid the work it off mindset – Do not feel like you have to run a marathon after thanksgiving to burn off the calories. Stay away from the extremes with exercise and nutrition. Enjoy the food, get back on track!
Portion control – You can eat the foods you enjoy as long as you watch the portion sizes. This will help you stay on track and avoid binge eating.
Track and watch your trigger foods! Everyone has those foods where it’s hard to stop eating. Make sure you are not keeping those foods in your house or close to your desk at work. Eat them and find a way to get rid of them so you don’t binge eat.
Stress – The holidays can be a stressful time of year. This will have a negative impact on your health, causing you to gain weight. Find activities that help you manage stress. Find time for yourself.
Sleep – Quality sleep is such an important part of a healthy lifestyle! You need to develop sleep routines. Treat this with the same attention as your exercise and diet routine. This is the first thing to go when things get busy! Focusing on quality sleep will change your life!
Don’t skip meals to “save up” for all the calories – I see a lot of people doing this thinking it will reduce calories. You will just end up overeating because you are hungry. Usually overeating on bad foods.
Focus on getting plenty of protein , fiber, water throughout the day. This will help you prevent overeating later in the day.

Alcohol – Simply reducing alcohol is enough for most people to prevent holiday weight gain. These calories add up quick! They cause you to make bad decisions leading to even more calories!
Develop a quick 15 to 20 min workout – You will run into periods when you are crazy busy! You can get in a great workout in just 15 to 20 minutes. These workouts get results and help you keep momentum. If you need ideas for quick workouts we are here to help.
Fun Activities vs structured workouts – Don’t stress over missing your structured workouts. Stay active and find things you can do to stay active. Going for walks or playing games with the family will go a long way.
