Are you a fitness role model for your family?

If not, why?
Most people are crazy busy! It’s hard to be there for everyone.  Even harder to find time for yourself to workout and eat healthy.
Most of you agree that family comes first. All of you agree that health is more important than anything else! Do your actions align with those statements?
Lack of time?- It can be hard to find time to workout. If you are doing nothing, set a goal next week to get in one hour for the entire week. Yes, just one hour. You can break that down into 3 twenty minute workouts, or whatever.
The goal is to get some momentum. The goal is to develop habits. The goal is to NEVER take a zero. Don’t say “but that is not enough to get results.” If you have not done a thing for months or years, you just need to focus on stacking some small wins to get back on track.
I don’t care if you walk. I don’t care if you do some crunches and pushups. I don’t care if you play golf or tennis. Just move!
Lack of knowledge? – There is so much bad information out there. Research the qualifications of the people you are taking advice from. Consider hiring a qualified personal trainer to give you a jumpstart.
Lack of motivation? Next time you lack the motivation to workout, think about these things…
  • Do you want to be in a position where your family has to take care of you?
  • Do you value being independent?
  • Are your kids modeling your behavior? Is that a good thing? Or a bad thing?
  • Do you want to be strong enough to be there for your parents as they age?
Think about those questions the next time you think about skipping your workout.
 Make it a priority! Change your view of exercise!
